چکیده

Background A comprehensive congenital cardiac MRI exam with contrast enhancement typically consists of multiple scans to evaluate dynamic contrast enhancement (DCE) characteristics, physiological function, blood flow, and anatomical assessment. However, multiple sequences require skilled operators, prolong the exam, and lengthen anesthesia duration for uncooperative patients. Thus, we propose a single comprehensive 5D flow volumetric acquisition for a simpler and shorter cardiac exam. This technique resolves the cardiac cycle (1D), contrast dynamics (1D), and flow velocities for 3D volumes. The feasibility of the proposed 5D flow method is demonstrated for cardiopulmonary imaging.

Ultra-Fast Image Reconstruction of Tomosynthesis Mammography Using GPU

Digital Breast Tomosynthesis (DBT) is a technology that creates three dimensional (3D) images of breast tissue. Tomosynthesis mammography detects lesions that are not detectable with other imaging systems. If image reconstruction time is in the order of seconds, we can use Tomosynthesis systems to perform Tomosynthesis-guided Interventional procedures. This research has been designed to study u...

Noninvasive Stem Cell Labeling Using USPIO Technique and their Detection with MRI

Background: To date, several imaging techniques to track stem cells are used such as positron emission tomography (PET), single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT), Bioluminescence imaging (BLI), fluorescence imaging, CT scan and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Although, overall sensitivity of MRI compared to SPECT and Bioluminescence techniques are lower, but due to high spatial reso...

Characterisation of Pulsing Flow in Trickle-Bed Reactors using Ultra-Fast Magnetic Resonance Imaging

We use ultra-fast Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) to characterise hydrodynamics during pulsing flow in trickle-bed reactors. One-dimensional (1-D) liquid holdup profiles along the flow direction were acquired using Fast Low Angle SHot (FLASH) MRI at spatial and temporal resolutions of 352 μm pixel and 3.3 ms, respectively. Liquid pulse properties such as pulse velocity, duration and frequency ...

Calculation of total dose and dose equivalent distribution in the treatment of lung cancer using MR-guided carbon therapy

Nowadays, in order to improve the accuracy of treatment in radiation therapy, there are many attempts to use magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) due to the advantages of excellent soft tissue contrast and ultra-fast pulse sequences. On the other hand, carbon-ion radiation therapy is developing rapidly due to the benefits of greater relative biological effectiveness (RBE) and the application in the...

Turbo fast three-dimensional carotid artery black-blood MRI by combining three-dimensional MERGE sequence with compressed sensing.

PURPOSE In this study, we sought to investigate the feasibility of turbo fast three-dimensional (3D) black-blood imaging by combining a 3D motion-sensitizing driven equilibrium rapid gradient echo sequence with compressed sensing. METHODS A pseudo-centric phase encoding order was developed for compressed sensing-3D motion-sensitizing driven equilibrium rapid gradient echo to suppress flow sig...
